In just over a week, Major League Baseball returns to Dyersville for the second Field of Dreams game.The Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds will take the stage on Aug. 11 at the iconic field next to the movie site.Reds shortstop Kyle Farmer and Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel told reporters Wednesday that they’re excited to be a part of something so special. “I think the biggest thing will be wearing the old school uniform,” Farmer said. “That brings a different aspect to our mentality of playing the game.”Schwindel told reporters he’s excited to play hard and put on a show for fans. “When we get to that field, we’ll walk through the corn sit on the iconic bench out front,” Schwindel said. But he said his focus will be on “just trying to soak it all in and have as much fun as we can.”Event planners say they’ve worked hard to make sure this year’s game has just as much magic and energy as last summer’s game. The Field of Dreams minor league game will also be played next Tuesday in Dyersville. The Cedar Rapids Kernels will take on the Quad Cities River Bandits at the same iconic field built next to the movie site.
