A crash has the southbound lanes of Route 1 closed north of Dover, according to Delaware State Police.
No injuries have been reported at this time, but police said the crash is serious and Route 1 will be closed in the area of Scarborough Road for an extended period.
Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes of travel to avoid delays, said Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell, a police spokesperson.
The state Department of Transportation website is reporting that Route 1 is closed from the 104 exit (Scarborough Road) to the Dover toll plaza until further notice. The website also said the Route 13 ramp to Route 1 is closed at Scarborough Road.
Hatchell added that additional details will be released once they become available.
