RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County’s own Denny Hamlin sat down to talk with the press Saturday morning to kick off NASCAR race weekend at Richmond Raceway.
Hamlin, who drives the number 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing and currently ranks 4th, was asked a variety of questions by the media. He spoke about coming back to what some describe as his “home track,” where he’s taken home several wins, and his confidence level with such a familiar track.
“I’m excited for this race — all week, I’ve been really excited to get here and see where we stack up,” Hamlin said. “Certainly, with the history we’ve had over the last three or four races here at Richmond [Raceway], being in contention — I feel pretty strongly about it.”
