Chesterfield Schools holds showcase displaying art by middle, high school students

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Chesterfield County Public Schools held a showcase of visual art made by middle and high school students.

On Saturday, March 23, Chesterfield Schools held a Secondary Fine Arts Showcase from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cosby High School, displaying art created by middle and high school students.

Some of the art created by students at the showcase included photography, film, paintings, drawings and sculptures.

The showcase also featured performances in dance, theater and music including technology assisted music, fiddle fest and an all-county jazz band.

According to Jimi Herd, visual art curriculum specialist for Chesterfield Schools, the event was a great continuation of a tradition the County has had for many years in spotlighting the talents of student artists.

The event will continue for its final showcase on Sunday, March 24 from noon to 4 p.m. at Cosby High School.
