CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two shootings that took place during the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend in Chesterfield County are under investigation after one person was left injured, and another dead.
The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating two shootings that took place over the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend.
On Saturday, March 16 at around 1 a.m., officers were made aware of a shooting that took place on the 2500 block of Marina Drive at Falling Creek Apartments.
Officers learned a man was taken to the hospital by friends after someone approached him while he was sitting in a car and shot into the vehicle. According to police, the victim was taken to nearby hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Officials told 8News the suspect was on the run Saturday. Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man with a thin build that stands 5 feet and 7 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, mask, black hat and dark colored pants.
Chesterfield Police confirmed to 8News that as of Sunday, March 17, no arrests have been made.
Shortly after 24 hours had passed from the shooting at Falling Creek Apartments, officers were called to the 13600 block of Northwich Drive at around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 17 for reports of multiple gunshots.
When officers arrived on scene, they found 22-year-old Barry Jordan in a vehicle with a gunshot wound. According to police, Jordan was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment where he later died due to his injuries.
