Chesterfield man arrested for allegedly delivering drugs to inmate

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Sherriff’s Office has arrested and charged a man for allegedly delivering drugs to an inmate in the Chesterfield County Jail.

According to the sheriff’s office, an inmate who displayed “odd behavior” tested positive for illegal substances, resulting in an investigation.

Detectives were able to determine how and when the inmate received the substance and identified 39-year-old Dustin Kyle of Chesterfield as the alleged courier.

After an interview and evidence collection, the Sherriff’s Office acquired two warrants for Kyle’s arrest and took him into custody on Thursday, Feb. 1. Kyle was charged with delivering drugs to an incarcerated person and unauthorized delivery to a incarcerated person.

According to Chesterfield County Sherriff’s Office, Kyle is being held in Chesterfield County Jail on a $2000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Monday, March 11 in General District Court.
