CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield couple celebrated 70 years of marriage just a week away from Valentine’s Day.
On Wednesday Feb. 7, Horace and Juanita Poulston, of North Chesterfield, celebrated their 70th anniversary.
According to their daughter, Wendy Booker, the two had met after Juanita’s friends bet her that she couldn’t get Horace to go out with her — but Juanita won, and her and Horace have been together ever since.
The couple celebrated the milestone this past weekend at Pocahontas State Park, surrounded by their friends and family.
Booker said the secret to Horace and Juanita’s long marriage is communication, as they discuss everything at the kitchen table together.
