Most people who own dogs couldn’t imagine living without them and treat them like their own children. That’s why it can seem so unfair when we have to leave our dogs at home, especially after being home so much in the last twoyears.
Restaurants like Trolley Tap House in Wilmington want your dog to feel at home, while helping other dogs whodon’t have a home.
“Recently, Trolley Tap House hosted a dog-friendly ‘Pints for Pups’ fundraising event with Renee’s Rescues. This event included a full puppy special menu with all proceeds and a percentage of the daily sales going to Renee’s Rescues. Adoptable dogs were also outside on the patio during the event,” says Trolley Tap House Manager Angela Ryan.
In recent years, many restaurants have become more dog-friendly. Gov. John Carney signed a bill into law allowing dogs in outdoor seating areas in 2020.
If a dog is well-behaved and doesn’t disturb other guests, they are welcome to curl up under the table and spend some more time with their owners.

That is exactly what happens at Constitution Yards in Wilmington. The seasonal beer garden is the placeto be for sporting events, live entertainment and ax throwing.
Live music to look forward to before the end of the season includes Blank Pages on Friday, Sept. 2 from 7 to 10 p.m.; See Alice on Friday, Sept. 9 from 7 to 10 p.m., and Bad Hombres on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 7 to 11 p.m. The full schedule can be found on their website.
Constitution Yards offers a timeless beer garden menu including waffle fries, jumbo wings, hot dogs, and more. The drink menu includes canned beer, ciders, seltzers, and canned cocktails.
Ax throwing is offered on an hourly basis for small groups. If you are feeling more namaste, yoga is offered on thesecond and last Tuesday of each month.

Crooked Hammock dvertises on its website that they allow dogs.
According to bringfido.com, Crooked Hammock’s Middletown location is very dog friendly, even going so far as to provide water bowls and waste bags for your pooch.
The menu includes BLT chicken salad sandwiches, cedar plank salmon, salads, wings, and more.
The drink menu includes year-rounds like Hammock Easy and Beach Escape, seasonals like Actively Fishing andBrand New Day Pineapple Coconut, and “exclusive rarities” like Chasing Marshmallows and Hold My Milk.
Hours of operation for the Lewes location are Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. while the hours for the Middletown location are Sunday to Thursday 11a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Dogfish Head being dog friendly just makes sense. Imagine having “dog” be in your name and not even allowing dogs to come visit!
According to the FAQ page, dogs are more than welcome at Dogfish Head locations.
When asked if they were dog friendly, the page responded with “Heck, yeah, we are! Our four-legged fans are welcomed inside and outside at our Tasting Room & Kitchen, but not on our brewery tours, because … ya know, health codes and stuff.”

At Grain Craft Bar and Kitchen, all locations with a patio are dog friendly.
“In the past, our Grain H20 location has had an afternoon Yappy Hour with a pup-friendly menu. And is evenknown to host adoption events at their waterfront location,” says Grain employee Kiran Wiker.
Dog owners that visit Grain can come for their “award-winning brunch,” lunch or dinner. Menus include cheesesteak eggrolls, burgers, nachos, salads, salmon BLT, scrapple fries, bacon avocado chicken wrap, and much more.

Grey Fox has an expansive menu that includes plenty of drinks, desserts, and dinners to choose from.
You can get a New York Strip, taco of the day, house wings, Buffalo chicken ranch flatbread, burgers, salads, and much more. As for drinks, you can order a Sunburst Martini or Fox Lady Martini from the unique martini menu, or an Old Fashioned or a Dark & Stormy from their Classic Cocktails menu. Perhaps you’d prefer green tea or gummy bearshooters from the shooters menu.

Salty Paws offers powdered ice cream for your pup. The ice cream is lactose-free and of course, dog friendly.
The shop offers several flavors to choose from including maple bacon, vanilla, pumpkin, blueberry and peanut butter.
