Body recovered from James River in Varina area of Henrico County by Police, Fire units


HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Units from several departments in the area recovered a body that was found in the James River in the Varina area of Henrico County.

According to the Henrico County Division of Fire, units from the Henrico County Division of Police, Henrico Fire and Chesterfield County Fire and EMS Marine units retrieved a body which was found upstream from Osborne Landing Park, located at 9530 Osborne Turnpike in the Varina area.

Units responded to the area at around 3:26 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

Family members of Lorenzo Jones, a Henrico man who has been missing since Feb. 10, went to the scene after hearing about the incident to see if they could find out whether he was the man who was found.

Henrico Police is still investigating to determine the man’s identity and the circumstances regarding his death.
