The body of a man was pulled from a lake Wednesday next to SoFi Stadium, home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, after he trespassed onto the property, officials said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it received a call around 6 a.m. about a man who went into the man-made lake in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood and never came out.
“He was fairly determined to get onto the property,” Inglewood Mayor James Butts Jr. told reporters.
The unidentified man trespassed into the stadium parking lot just before 6 a.m., Butts told reporters. Security personnel called the Inglewood Police Department soon after.
Just before 6:15 a.m., the man was last seen entering the lake and moving toward the middle, Butts said. He was last seen above the water minutes later. His body was recovered just after 9:45 a.m. He was described as a Hispanic man about 45 years of age.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told Fox News a dive team assisted the police in the recovery.
Security footage showed a man jumping into the lake. The body was recovered just after 11 a.m. local time.
The lake is part of SoFi Stadium, one of the league’s newest venues.
SoFi Stadium last hosted Super Bowl LVI between the Rams and Cincinnati Bengals in February. The Rams won 23-20.
