RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — One Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen location in Richmond is permanently closing its doors after serving breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts to the community for 26 years.
According to a spokesperson for the restaurant, the Baker’s Crust Artisan Kitchen located at 3553 W. Cary St. permanently closed its doors on Sunday, March 3.
Luckily, for those who have a hankering for Neapolitan pizzas, crepes or buttermilk biscuits, Baker’s Crust has eight other locations, including one in the Short Pump area.
According to the restaurant, the first Baker’s Crust opened for business in a 3,000-square-foot storefront located in the Hilltop North Shopping Center, about three miles away from Virginia Beach’s oceanfront in October 1993.
The Virginia Beach location was the only facility that baked all of the breads, pastries and desserts for three locations that were open at the time. However, to keep up with the demand, a 4,600-square-foot production facility was built on Cary Street, according to the restaurant.
