Delaware’s own silver-screen star Aubrey Plaza has been recognized a top actress leading streaming entertainment for 2023.
You might have seen her on your TV last fall during the second season of HBO’s hit show “The White Lotus.” Maybe you streamed “Emily the Criminal” on Netflix after it debuted to critical acclaim.
Or perhaps you recently settled into your favorite movie theater’s reclining seats after a buying a ticket to Plaza’s latest role in “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre” alongside Jason Statham, your popcorn and large slushy in tow.
To anyone keeping tabs on her career, it’s no surprise her appearances in the limelight — and her Golden Globe nomination in December — have made her a leading lady for this year’s streaming content.
In a tribute to International Women’s Day on Wednesday, Clix Inc. released a list featuring 50 of “Hollywood’s best” streaming performances by female actresses and storytellers.
Thanks to Plaza’s role in the movie “Emily the Criminal,” she finds herself surrounded by other stream queen like Julia Garner in “Ozark,” Quinta Brunson in “Abbott Elementary,” Keke Palmer in “NOPE” and Simone Ashley in “Bridgerton.” Also making the list: Zendaya, Millie Bobby Brown, Angela Bassett, Kerry Condor, Michelle Yeoh and many more.
