Attempted robbery at Truist Bank in Petersburg launches police investigation


PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — An attempted robbery occurred Monday afternoon at Truist Bank in Petersburg, launching an investigation by police.

The Petersburg Bureau of Police said the attempted robbery occurred at the bank, located at 117 East Washington Street.

The suspect, who police described as wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, black surgical mask and black beanie with “Virginia” in red lettering, was captured by security cameras during the incident.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the attempted robbery is asked to contact the Petersburg Bureau of Police at 804-732-4222.
