Netflix released a trailer for the movie on YouTube on June 5.
“The OUT-LAWS breaks onto your screens JULY 7th on @Netflix!!!,” tweeted DeVine.
DeVine appeared on the “Today” show in June to talk about the new movie.
It’s “obviously wildly intimidating if your in-laws are Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin,” he told co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.
DeVine also revealed the writers of the movie, Ben Zazove and Evan Turner, came to him with the idea for the movie about eight years ago. DeVine wrote it down in a notebook, but then lost the notebook and forgot about the movie.
DeVine said he then found the notebook in an old box and reached out to Zazove and Turner, who hadn’t done anything with the script. The trio sold it to Netflix and brought Adam Sandler on board as a producer.
