A serious crash has all lanes of Christiana Road (Route 273) closed Monday night near New Castle, according to Delaware State Police.
The extent of the injuries has not been reported.
“The investigation is in the early stages with further details being released as they become available,” according a press release issued by Senior Cpl. Jason Hatchell, a police spokesman.
The vehicle collision occurred about 8:40 p.m. in the east lanes of Christiana Road near Prangs Lane.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.
“The road closure is anticipated to be lengthy, with no estimated time for a re-opening,” Hatchell said.
