10-month-old Caleb Parsons recently started crawling, but he hasn’t been doing it alone.
The Port Charlotte baby’s dog, Kahlua, has been helping her human brother. Kahlua, a three-year-old Rottweiler mix, was paralyzed after a spine injury before being adopted by the Parsons family.
Video of the two crawling with one another has been spreading across social media.
“They’re best friends,” Lori, Caleb’s mom, said. “[Kahlua’s] always checking on him.”
Lori believes the unlikely duo’s example can send a profound message to others.
“You see a bond between an animal and a human being and that they teach each other something,” Lori said. “All of us can be happy and resilient and have the strength to pull through.”
