Betty White’s assistant shares ‘one of the last photos’ taken of beloved star: ‘Radiant and beautiful’


Betty White‘s assistant is giving fans one last glimpse at the beloved star.

The comedy icon would have turned 100 on Monday. She tragically died on Dec. 31, 2021, before hitting the major milestone.

To celebrate the bitter-sweet day, White’s assistant, Kiersten, shared a photo of the actress taken on Dec. 20, just days before her passing.

“Hello Everyone! It’s Kiersten. Betty’s Assistant. On this special day, I wanted to share this photo of Betty,” she captioned the Facebook post. “It was taken on 12/20/21. I believe it’s one of the last photos of her. She was radiant and beautiful and as happy as ever.”

The assistant concluded: “Thanks to all of you who are doing kind things today and every day to make the world a better place.”

In the pic, the “Mary Tyler Moore Show” alum sat in a floral print chair, wearing a green t-shirt, white pants and shimmering green blazer. Of course, she also had a big smile on her face.

White died of natural causes on Dec. 31, 2021, at the age of 99.

In the days following her death, it was revealed that the actress suffered a stroke six days before her death. No underlying causes or conditions were listed on her death certificate.

“I was told that Betty passed in her sleep peacefully without pain,” the late star’s agent and close friend Jeff Witjas told Fox News Digital at the time. “To me, that is the most important thing and brings me comfort as her dear friend.”

Witjas had also previously shot down speculation that her death was tied to a recent coronavirus vaccination booster, telling People magazine: “People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier, but that is not true.”

White, who was known for her roles in ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ and ‘Golden Girls,’ died of natural causes just six days after suffering a stroke.

The late icon was revered for her work in comedy, most notably in sitcoms like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls,” as well as films like “The Proposal.”

Her final role was voicing the aptly-named toy tiger Bitey White in Disney+‘s “Toy Story 4” spin-off series “Forky Asks a Question.” The episode she lent her voice to also featured vocal appearances from other comedy titans including, Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks and Carol Burnett.

White was set to celebrate her 100th birthday with a theatrical screening of a new documentary called “Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration.” The event and documentary were retitled “Betty White: A Celebration,” and the event was still held in theaters on Monday.
