Retired Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward has announced he’s going to be the head coach of the first XFL team for San Antonio, Texas.Ward made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday morning, writing in part, “It’s an honor to represent this city and we’re going to play with an edge and resilience you’d expect from the home of the Alamo.”Ward’s social media announcement follows the XFL’s own announcement about his hiring about a week ago.Ward, 46, played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1998 to 2011.
