Tennessee state trooper adopts dog he found in sweltering heat on side of highway



A dog who was found on the side of the highway in the sweltering heat now has a forever home thanks to the state highway patrol trooper who found him.The dog was discovered earlier this month by a driver traveling along the highway in Tennessee. She said a Tennessee State Trooper was nearby so she asked if she could stop and check on the dog. The trooper followed her and they found the dog panting in the sweltering heat.The trooper dumped out his Kool-Aid and made a water bowl for the dog who quickly finished it. The trooper got her more water and also grabbed a chair and umbrella. The trooper used the umbrella to help shade the dog from the sun.Fiorello said the trooper told her he was going to stay there until the dog trusts him before bringing her to a shelter.”I believe his being there at the right time, was one of those little messages reminding us of the good in our world,” Fiorello said in her Facebook post.The dog was taken to be treated at Cleveland Tennessee Animal Control and the trooper, Trooper Tudors, adopted the dog. His family named her Princess. TSP said Princess is still receiving treatment at the facility until she can go to her forever home.

The driver, Kaye Fiorello, said she saw the dog in a ditch and turned around to help.
