2 dogs die in Georgetown house fire: Delaware fire marshal


Two dogs died in a house fire on Gravel Hill Road in Georgetown on Monday.

The Georgetown Fire Company responded to the 18000 block of Gravel Hill Road around noon to find smoke and flames coming from the home. No one was at home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal investigated and found the fire to be accidental, caused by “an unknown malfunction of an appliance.”

Damage is estimated at $250,000.
