All roads in Newark have reopened following a police investigation that shut down multiple streets Wednesday afternoon.
Newark Police issued a press release saying someone is custody, but they have not specified why the person was arrested or why police were investigating in the first place.
Police, however, did clarify that this was not an active shooter as some social media posts were claiming.
“This was not an active shooter,” said Lt. Andrew Rubin, a police spokesman. “I’m still gathering more details.”
Rubin said police would be releasing an update when more information was available.
