Easter is approaching, and with the overcast trends that have (literally) clouded our lives lately, the question remains: Will holiday egg hunts be able to continue this year?
According to Jonathan O’Brien, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, there are promising chances that outdoor Easter Sunday celebrations can carry on.

While the rest of the week will be warmer, with temperatures forecast for a high of 81 degrees on Wednesday and 80 degrees again on Thursday in Wilmington, don’t be thrown off by slightly cooler temperatures heading into the weekend.
Temperatures will drop about 10 degrees Friday and Saturday.
“A pretty strong cold front is going to go through on Saturday,” O’Brien said. “That may bring some rain showers with it.”
By the holiday, the cold front should move offshore, leaving cooler but dry conditions for families and friends to enjoy.
“We’ve got mostly sunny skies for Easter,” O’Brien said. “High temperatures in the upper 50s is what we’re forecasting on Sunday, and a bit breezy as well. It looks like a nice day overall.”
Regardless of the weather conditions, the Easter bunny will continue its annual tradition of mischief – don’t forget to check your backyards for any spare eggs!
And for the rest of the week, make sure to keep an umbrella handy. The chance of sprinkles or showers remains for much of the week ahead.
