Tired of waiting for the Cape May-Lewes Ferry? Or taking the long way up to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and back?
Delaware’s Twitter account @delaware_gov announced the good news on April 1 for drivers who want to (or let’s face it, have to) drive to New Jersey. The First State and Garden State are partnering to build a connector tunnel under the Delaware Bay.
The tweet indicates the tunnel’s route will follow that of the existing ferry line. The tunnel will accommodate New Jersey drivers by not forcing them to make any left turns.
The project will remain a pipe dream, however, as this is just the latest edition of the Delaware Twitter account’s April Fools joke.
