HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities are investigating a tragic double homicide after two individuals were found shot dead at a business in the Highland Springs area of Henrico County just before 5 a.m. Friday.
According to the Henrico County Division of Police, officers found two dead bodies within the premises of T’s Towing, located at 907 East Nine Mile Road, just after 5 a.m. on Friday, March 29 after receiving a 911 distress call.
Dozens of people stood along Nine Mile Road Friday morning as police worked the scene, which is located less than half a mile from Highland Springs High School.
While one victim has been identified as an adult male, police have not released any information regarding the second victim’s identity.
8News spoke to Famous Brown, the owner of Famous Brown’s Auto, which is adjacent to T’s Towing. Brown, a long-time resident of the Highland Springs area, said that the incident is an outlier given the neighborhood’s history of safety.
“It never should’ve happened in this neighborhood, this is a good neighborhood,” Brown said. “People get along here.”
Brown said he hopes this will bring the community together as they grieve this loss.
“Highland Springs High School is right behind us, and kids are next door in the daycare,” Brown said. “And when the kids get out of school, they walk by here every day. You don’t have issues in this community.”
