RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF), a local nonprofit, is seeking new early childhood educators in Richmond, Chesterfield County and Henrico County.
According to VECF, the organization has returned to its Fast Track initiative as an effort to address shortages in childcare staff that are impacting parents across the central Virginia region.
The Fast Track initiative is viewed as a solution to connecting early childhood programs with trained assistant teachers.
“From the beginning, I knew what a great program this could be for our Center,” said Shunta Summers, president of Foundations Learning Academy in Richmond, who participated in Fast Track last year. “Fast Track gave me a diverse pool of applicants that added to our dynamic workforce. The new employees saw that being in child care is NOT just a job, but a career path.”
In order to be eligible for the Early Educator Fast Track program, applicants are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent, be proficient in English, pass background checks and must be eligible for employment in Virginia.
Anyone interested in taking part in the program is recommended to visit the website and complete an interest form.
