HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) —
UPDATE- 3:00 a.m.- All lanes on Mechanicsville Turnpike are back open.
One person is dead and another is in the hospital after police say they were involved in a crash in eastern Henrico County.
According to the Henrico County Division of Police, at around 8:46 p.m. on Friday, March 15, officers responded to the intersection of Mechanicsville Turnpike and St. Claire Lane for a report of a three-vehicle crash.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, one was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the third was treated at the scene. None of the drivers involved in the crash have been identified by police.
This crash is still under investigation, police say Mechanicsville Turnpike will be closed for the next several hours.
