GRTC expands LINK microtransit to Chesterfield, Hanover and Powhatan coming soon

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) has begun its LINK microtransit service in the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County.

LINK is GRTC’s new on-demand microtransit service with which riders can request a ride anywhere within the service’s operating zones. Launched last November, LINK was only available in Henrico County north of Chamberlayne Avenue between Brook Road and Interstate 295 until March 11.

According to GRTC, the LINK zone that just began service in Chesterfield is along Hull Street Road between Chippenham Parkway and Route 288. The zone includes Chippenham Mall and Commonwealth Center.

New LINK zones in Ashland and the surrounding areas, as well as in Powhatan County along Anderson Highway will be launching on Monday, March 18 and Monday, March 25 respectively. More information about the zones and how to use LINK can be found here.

Like the rest of GRTC’s services, LINK is free until at least June 30.
