PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Interested in pursuing a teaching career with Prince George County Public Schools? There will be multiple job fair sessions in the upcoming weeks.
According to a press release, the school division is looking to hire across a variety of teaching positions, including:
- Elementary education
- Special education (at elementary, secondary and early childhood levels)
- Secondary-level teaching opportunities in English, Math and Science
- Career and technical education
- World languages
- Paraprofessionals
There are also some openings available for non-educators in such areas as support services, transportation, food service and student services.
There are early sign-on bonuses available for licensed educators joining the school division for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. According to the press release, a limited number of licensed teachers who sign-on early enough will receive $1,000.
Stipends are being offered across other areas the school division considers at a critical shortage, according to the release. These include special education teachers, career and technical education for credit teachers and math for credit teachers. These stipends begin at $1,500.
Job fair sessions will take place at the Prince George County School Board Office, located at 6410 Courts Dr., on the following dates and times:
- Friday, Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Friday, March 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Thursday, April 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Thursday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Registration for the February dates is currently open and can be completed online. Interested applicants may select their preferred time slot, though spots are limited.
