CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield County Public Schools teacher has been charged in connection to the assault of a student at Manchester High School, according to police.
A spokesperson for the Chesterfield County Police Department said the assault occurred at the school on Jan. 18, 2024.
On Jan. 19, police received a report that 49-year-old Freddie L. Williams, of the Chester area of the county, had “struck a juvenile male student” at the school on Jan. 18.
After further investigation, police obtained a warrant for assault for Williams on Monday, Feb. 5. Williams was served with the releasable warrant the same day.
According to a spokesperson for Chesterfield County Public Schools, “The employee will not return to the school division pending adjudication of the charges.”
