RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A missing 31-year-old man who was last seen on Jan. 19 has been found dead in a wooded area near Cofer Road.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, family members of 31-year-old Salvador Vitervo Ortiz contacted the Richmond Police Department after they found Ortiz in a wooded area in the 2700 block of Cofer Road.
When officers arrived, they secured the area and the Richmond Ambulance Authority pronounced Ortiz dead at the scene. Police said there are currently no signs of foul play.
Prior to this discovery, Ortiz was reported missing by family members after he was last seen on the night of Friday, Jan. 19, walking barefoot in the 3100 block of Richmond Highway.
