Morning news brief: Kenya explosion, Turkey hostage drama, and more


A massive explosion has injured at least 300 people and killed two in Kenya’s capital Nairobi. The situation is developing. In other news, Turkish police rescued seven people held hostage at Proctor & Gamble facility in northewestern Turkey. Read this and more in Morning News Brief.

“The concerted actions of various response units have resulted in the successful evacuation of 271 individuals to different health facilities in Nairobi,” the Kenya Red Cross said Friday on X.

Hostages rescued from Procter & Gamble factory: Firstly, the police tried to convince the hostage-taker to surrender peacefully however the plans failed to bore fruit and thus the rescue operation was kicked off by the authorities.

A video footage was released by the Ukrainian forces which captured the moment of the impact which was followed by a massive explosion

Mumbai Police have said that efforts are underway to trace the message sender.
