Fire crews respond to house fire in Chesterfield with dog inside


CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Fire crews responded to a house fire in Chesterfield with a dog inside of the building.

During the night of Saturday, Jan. 20, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to the 12300 block of Waterfall Cove Court for a report of a house fire. When they arrived on scene, they found a fire in the basement and smoke throughout the two-story home.

According to officials, firefighters were able to safely rescue a dog from the home with no injuries reported. The fire was marked under control in 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
