A Georgetown teen is dead after the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic he was operating Saturday morning collided head-on with another car on Lewes-Georgetown Highway west of Hudson Road.
A 17-year-old male was westbound on Route 9, west of Hudson Road in Milton, when his car crossed into the eastbound lane and directly into the path of a 2018 Kia Optima, driven by a 30-year-old Lewes man who was eastbound, Delaware State Police said.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday.
Police said “for unknown reasons” the Chevrolet veered into the left-turn lane and then opposing traffic. After the crash, the teen’s car came to rest in the left-turn lane, while the Kia was knocked off the road, officials said.
The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at Beebe Medical Center. Identification is pending notification to family.
The 30-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital for treatment, police said. Both drivers were properly restrained, they added.
