HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A man is in custody after what started as a domestic situation ended in a homicide investigation in a Pinedale Farms area neighborhood.
Police told 8News they responded to the 9500 block of Downing Street near Pemberton Road at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 for a domestic incident. Upon arrival, police made contact with a man inside residence who refused to come outside. Then, officers created distance between themselves, and the suspect barricaded himself inside the home.
At around 6:20 p.m., police took the man into custody.
Police said they found a dead body inside the home. According to police, just the victim and the suspect were found inside.
Police confirmed they are now in the early stages of a homicide investigation.
This was an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
