Get ready because we might be in for a bumpy ride Monday.
Most of Delaware and other parts of the region could be hit with severe thunderstorms that could cause a tornado sometime Monday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Westampton, New Jersey.
Between 4 and 10 p.m., nearly all of Delaware will be at an enhanced risk of numerous severe thunderstorms that could bring heavy rain, localized flash flooding, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and a possible tornado, according to the NWS.
The NWS said there’s also a marginal chance of isolated flash flooding in the southern parts of Delaware during the storm.
Forecast for Monday across the Northeast
Thunderstorms are expected ahead of a cold front Monday with some expected to be severe and containing the potential for tornadoes, damaging straight line winds, large hail and flash flooding, according to the NWS. The greatest risk for all of these hazards will be across the northern Mid-Atlantic region, forecasters said.
