President Joe Biden is scheduled to announce today at 2 p.m. his nomination for the Supreme Court seat set to be vacated by Associate Justice Stephen Breyer this summer.
U.S. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is the first Black woman to be nominated for a seat on the high court. Jackson is expected to speak at the announcement.
Jackson, 51, was confirmed by the Senate just last year to serve on the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., leading some to hope for bipartisan support of her nomination.
