Twitter owner Elon Musk said he was looking to change Twitter’s logo, tweeting: “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.
In a tweet on Sunday, the billionaire business magnate added: “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow.”
With Musk at the helm of affairs since he bought the social media platform last October, the company has changed its business name to X Corp.
Musk aims to create a “super app” like China’s WeChat.
Twitter’s bird was temporarily replaced in April by Dogecoin’s Shiba Inu dog, following which a surge in the meme coin’s market value was recorded.
Recently, the company was widely criticised by users and marketing professionals alike when Musk announced that Twitter would limit how many tweets per day various accounts can read.
Twitter’s most recent woe was a lawsuit filed earlier this week that claimed the firm owes at least $500 million in severance pay to former employees. Twitter has laid off more than half its workforce to cut costs since Musk’s takeover of the platform.
