Hard Rock International and soccer star Lionel Messi are teaming up to launch a namesake menu item – the Messi Chicken Sandwich, the company announced Wednesday.
The new milanese-style chicken sandwich is timed to Messi’s entrance into Major League Soccer, where he plans to debut with Inter Miami CF.
“I’m thrilled to bring the flavors of my home country to the world with the launch of my very own chicken sandwich, inspired by one of my favorite dishes, the Milanesa,” Messi said in a news release.

What’s in the Messi Chicken Sandwich?
According to the news release, the sandwich is inspired by Messi’s love of milanesa, an Argentinian staple that Messi said is “one of my childhood favorites that still makes me feel at home, wherever in the world I am.”
The sandwich is made up of a milanese-style chicken breast, melted provolone cheese, an herbed aioli, fresh tomatoes, arugula and topped with a toasted artisan bun.
When is the sandwich available?
The sandwich is available starting Wednesday at participating Hard Rock Cafe locations and Hard Rock hotels and casinos via in-room dining.
“Leo Messi is not just one of the greatest athletes and cultural icons on the planet, he’s also an ambassador who aligns very closely with our values as an organization,” said Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International in the release.
