Vehicle fire, crash causes I-95 lane closures in Greensville County near North Carolina

GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A vehicle crash and fire caused all southbound lanes on Interstate 95 to be closed near the border of North Carolina in Greensville County on Tuesday morning.

The crash was first reported as a vehicle fire by VDOT shortly before 8:15 a.m. and was located on I-95 South near the Moore’s Ferry Road exit.

According to VDOT, all southbound lanes were closed. At one point, there was a 2-mile-long backup.

Shortly after 10 a.m., VDOT reported that all lanes had been reopened and the scene was clear.
