Four men shot in home in Prince William County, two dead from injuries

UPDATE: This story has been updated with more information from an ongoing police investigation.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Four people were shot in a home in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County Friday afternoon, according to police.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers responded to the 14700 block of Birchdale Avenue in the Woodbridge area for a report of a shooting on Friday, May 26.

When they got there, the officers found a man outside the house who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Inside the home, officers found three additional men with gunshot wounds, who were then taken to local hospitals.

One of the men later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries The other two men remain in the hospital.

Police believe a group of people were inside the home when someone began shooting and hit four men. The suspect then left the house before police arrived.

The shooting is now being investigated as a double homicide.
