King Charles III gets crowned on Saturday, May 6, in London.

Snuff Mill Restaurant, Butchery & Wine Bar is selling to-go orders of Meyer Lemon Cream Trifle, $15, which has layers of Meyer lemon ganache, Meyer lemon curd, whipped cream and graham cracker crumbs. It’s a riff on one of Charles’ favorite desserts.
Oh, and here’s a Delaware connection to the Royals: The late George “Frolic” Weymouth, an artist and longtime leader of the carriage procession at Winterthur’s Point to Point (it’s this Sunday!) who grew up on property that was home to Greenville’s Twin Lakes, was friends with Prince Philip, King Charles’ father.

The royal connection does not surprise me one bit. Weymouth, seriously one of the most interesting people I’ve ever interviewed, had all kinds of people visiting his home Big Bend, which was just over the Delaware state line. Guests included Michael Jackson, Martha Stewart and Luciano Pavarotti.
Things I’ve learned in life: There’s almost always a Delaware connection …. !
