RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — All northbound lanes of Interstate 195 are closed in Richmond due to a crash involving two tractor-trailers, one of which overturned.
According to Virginia State Police (VSP), just before 5 a.m. Saturday, two tractor-trailers collided in the northbound lanes of I-195 on the Bryan Park Interchange. One of the tractor-trailers, which was carrying about 43,000 pounds of dog food, overturned.
One person was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. This incident is still under investigation and charges are pending, according to VSP.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, all northbound lanes of I-195 are currently closed between the Broad Street exit and Interstate 64.
Traffic is currently being diverted to Patterson Avenue. Drivers in the area are asked to use alternate routes. For real-time traffic information and highway cameras, visit 511Virginia.org.
