Meals on Wheels Delaware’s annual Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch returns on April 30 to the DuPont Country Club in Rockland.
The event is now in its 26th year. Guests pay one fee and visit tables overflowing with cocktails, wine and small plates of food made by local and visiting chefs.
The brunch has long been a lavish, elbow-to-elbow tasting event although it was downsized during the pandemic.
This year, more than 700 guests are expected to sample food and cocktails from 25 chefs from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Frequent attendees over the years look forward to returning visiting chefs such as Don Drake from Charleston, South Carolina, who is well-known for his shrimp and grits.
Other returning chefs include Bruce Moffett and Larry Schreiber, both of Charlotte, North Carolina; Alex Seidel of Denver; Jose Salazar of Cincinnati; Casey Vires of St. Louis; Ontario’s Michael Blackie; Deb Paquette of Nashville, Tennessee; and Denver’s Paul Reilly. Newcomers include chefs Jacob Barrios and Brent Weathers, both of Texas; and Loryn Nalic of Missouri.

“We are always grateful for the enthusiasm from the chefs who share their talents for a good cause,” said Regina Dodds, director of events for Meals on Wheels Delaware.
Tickets range from $75 to $175 and can be purchased at mealsonwheelsde.org/event/celebrity-chefs-brunch-2023.
Live entertainment will be provided by Bare Soul and the Philip Berger Jazz Trio.
