A man walking across Route 13 in Bridgeville on Wednesday evening died after being struck by a car, according to Delaware State Police.
Around 6:35 p.m., a 63-year-old man was driving a Chrysler 300 in the northbound left lane, approaching Rifle Range Road, police said in a news release. “For unknown reasons,” he walked west from the eastern side of the road, in front of the Chrysler, and was struck.
The Chrysler swerved to the right and struck a Chevrolet Cruze, driven by a 20-year-old woman, in the right lane, police said.

Neither driver was injured, according to police. The pedestrian died from his injuries at the hospital. He will be identified after his family is notified.
Police closed the road for about three hours while they investigated and cleared the scene. The investigation continues.
