The Eagles’ current situation shows how fleeting these Super Bowl experiences can be.
As many as 18 players, or one-third of the Eagles’ 53-man roster, are eligible for free agency when the new league year begins next month.
Many of those players, such as cornerback James Bradberry, safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, running back Miles Sanders and right guard Isaac Seumalo, were key contributors to the Eagles’ Super Bowl run.
In addition, this could also mean the end for three franchise legends in Jason Kelce, who could decide to retire, and defensive linemen Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox, who can become free agents.
It would be easy to say they should all return. But that’s not possible with the NFL’s salary cap. The Eagles have about $6.3 million in available cap space.
In addition, the Eagles will most likely try to sign quarterback Jalen Hurts to a lucrative extension that should make him among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, with a contract of about $50 million per season in average annual value.
That, in turn, could affect who the Eagles can bring back as well.
With that in mind, here’s your chance to play general manager Howie Roseman and decide which pending free agents should stay or which should go:
