A 29-year-old woman was killed and several others were injured after two vehicles collided Friday night near New Castle, according to police.
New Castle County police said a 21-year-old woman was driving a Honda Civic at 9:44 p.m. Friday, attempting to travel north in the 800 block of Moores Lane, when she veered off into the southbound lane. At that time, she crashed into a 52-year-old woman’s Chevrolet Equinox, according to a news release from the New Castle County Division of Police.
The Equinox, which had the 29-year-old woman inside, was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to police.
The 21-year-old woman driving the Civic and a 20-year-old passenger, who was identified as a man, were treated for injuries at a local hospital, police said.

A second report by the Good Will Fire Company stated that a total of five people were taken to a local hospital as a result of the crash. At least three of the people were trapped and rescue crews had to work to free them, according to fire company officials.
Police did not provide the identities of anyone involved in this crash and no information was released on the extent of the injuries.
