Punxsutawney Phil is anticipated to leave his burrow and look for his shadow for the 136th time, according to The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.
The day’s festivities will kick off early in the morning with large crowds, a somewhat return to normalcy after last year’s event was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Groundhog Day 2022 will be celebrated at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2. That’s when Punxsutawney Phil is anticipated to leave his burrow and look for his shadow for the 136th time, according to groundhog.org/.
There are festivities starting this weekend in Punxsutawney, with events planned starting Saturday and lasting through Wednesday.
On Groundhog Day, the prognostication celebration starts at 3 a.m. at Gobbler’s Knob with a stage show.
