A 29-year-old man who was fatally shot early Sunday in Dover has been identified by police.
Jesse Holley, of Dover, marks the city’s first homicide this year.
Dover police were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Bradford St. just after 1:10 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call for a shooting. Arriving officers found Holley there.
Dover Police Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said Holley had a gunshot wound to his lower body.
Holley was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
This is Dover’s first homicide since June 30, 2021, when 19-year-old Tysean Nelson was one of four people shot in the capital city’s 100 block of S. New St.
Nelson was the only one of the four who died.
