A 67-year-old woman was shot and killed by her 34-year-old son in Dover Friday night, Delaware State Police reported.
Police said they were called to the 200 block of Harriet Street in Dover at around 7:19 p.m. for reports of a shooting. The caller was Kyle Leonard, the 67-year-old woman’s son, police said. He told officials that he shot and in killed his mother with a handgun in their home, according to police. He did not resist arrest.

Leonard was charged with first degree murder at Delaware State Police Troop 3, police said. He was sent to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $200,000 cash bond. Police have not reported a motive for the shooting.
