DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Dinwiddie County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old man after a police pursuit that began in Dinwiddie County and ended in Petersburg.
Jermaine W. Satchell, 40, was arrested and charged following a police pursuit that began in Dinwiddie County and ended in Petersburg at around 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
According to officials, a Dinwiddie officer attempted to stop Satchell for a traffic infraction in the county’s north end when he drove away and fled from the scene, which then began a police pursuit.
Officers from the Petersburg Bureau of Police assisted in the pursuit as it continued into the city and ended on Grigg Street, where Satchell then abandoned his car and fled on foot. Shortly after, Dinwiddie officers were able to arrest him.
In a search conducted by authorities at the scene, Satchell was found in possession of narcotics. Satchell also had outstanding warrants in Dinwiddie County and Sussex County, according to officials.
Satchell was arrested and charged for traffic infractions, alluding law enforcement and possession with the intent to distribute narcotics.
